CAN EECCA is a network of climate NGOs in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Our members include more than 50 non-governmental organizations from 11 countries working on climate change issues. We are part of the world’s largest international network, Climate Action Network, which has over 1900 member organizations worldwide.
Our mission: To support, strengthen and develop civil society organisations in the EECCA region in their ability to influence the development and implementation of climate policies that lead to a climate-neutral and more equitable future.
The EECCA region often falls out of the global focus due to political instability, corruption, repressed media. We are working to consolidate and promote the priorities of civil society organisations in the EECCA region on an international level. We need a person who will become our ‘voice’.
Social Media Manager position is 80% employment (30 hours per week).
Starting date: September 30, 2024 (minimum 1 year contract with further extension).
We are looking for you if you:
- Have experience in climate change communication
- Have experience in social media (Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, X, LinkedIn)
- Run successful targeting campaigns and conduct analysis for joint collaborations with other organizations.
- Can create quality visual materials (photos and videos)
- Proficient in English and Russian for competent written and verbal communication
- Can organize your work online, have access to a stable internet connection, and a working computer
- Have basic WordPress skills, in order to update CAN EECCA website
- Interested in learning how the network of climate organizations operates and in getting to know our members
Core responsibilities of the Social Media Manager:
- Plan the development strategy of all CAN EECCA social media depending on the target audience and objectives
- Publish climate-related news on CAN EECCA social networks
- Create original designs though Canva or other tools
- Launch successful campaigns and collaborations with organisations
- Generate ideas to engage new audiences
- Analyse social media activity
- Update information on the network’s website in a timely manner as requested
- Edit videos for Instagram

Contract terms and conditions:
CAN EECCA is not registered and works thanks to its members. All candidates must be willing to open an individual entrepreneur account or be employed by a Kyrgyz NGO.
