The civil society in most EECCA countries does not yet have sufficient power to influence policy in their countries, as they are often subject to repression, have many barriers to sustainable financing, and cannot fully use mechanisms for participation in decision-making.

We strengthen the voice of the public at the regional and international level, communicate the demands of network members to decision makers and promote mechanisms for civil society participation in decision-making.

The Climate Action Network has launched a campaign called #WorldWeWant. This initiative tells the stories of people who are on the front lines of the climate crisis and demands immediate action from the world’s governments.

The campaign is based on short films created by filmmakers from around the world. They depict not only how people are confronting the devastating effects of climate change, fossil resource use, and pollution but also highlight the hope and solutions available.

We invite you to read the activist toolkit based on the Climate Leadership School we organised in 2021. It will be of interest to anyone who is just starting their journey in activism or is looking for more resources to learn.
