Climate Action Network Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia (CAN EECCA), in collaboration with CEE Bankwatch Network, is excited to announce a funding opportunity for NGOs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan to develop and implement communication campaigns aimed at promoting renewable energy sources (RES) and addressing energy challenges in their respective countries.
This initiative will support several CAN EECCA member groups with grants of EUR 3,000 to 5,000 to cover the costs of creating and executing impactful communication campaigns. Selected organizations will receive funding to develop social media campaigns, media articles, infographics, and more, aimed at changing the narrative around renewable energy and fossil fuel dependence in their country. Bankwatch and CAN EECCA experts on these topics will be available for advice and/or peer reviews of the communications materials, upon request.
Eligible Campaign Topics:
- Myth-busting: Addressing misconceptions about nuclear energy, fossil gas, and other non-renewable energy sources.
- Financial Benefits: Highlighting the economic advantages of transitioning to RES.
- Energy Dependency: Exposing financial mechanisms (such as subsidies and monopolies) that perpetuate fossil fuel reliance.
- Fossil Gas: Analyzing the growing use of imported fossil gas in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Supported Formats:
- Social media posts (including paid promotion)
- Media articles (analytical pieces, storytelling, interviews)
- Visual content design (infographics, visuals for campaigns)
Timeline:
Campaigns will be developed and executed from November 2024 to February 2025, with February 28th as the project report deadline.
Application Process:
Interested NGOs from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan are invited to submit their proposals, which should include:
- A brief description of the campaign idea and how it fits within the supported topics.
- The target audience and expected engagement outcomes.
- A preliminary budget (3-5k EUR) breakdown.
- The desired impact on the energy transition in your country.
How to Apply:
Please submit your proposals by October 24, 2024, via our designated application page.
If you have any questions or need additional information, feel free to contact can.eecca@gmail.com.
We look forward to receiving your innovative ideas and working together to promote renewable energy and reduce fossil fuel dependency across Central Asia!
