CAN EECCA (Climate Action Network Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia) is pleased to announce the launch of a Mini Grants Program aimed at supporting civil society organizations (CSOs) within our network. Our mission is to increase the capacity of our members to influence climate policy and advance impactful initiatives within the region.
Primary goals of the program:
- Enhance Capacity: Strengthen the capacity of CSOs to engage in climate advocacy, policy development, and implementation.
- Foster Innovation: Encourage the development and implementation of innovative projects that address pressing climate challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
- Promote Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among CSOs within the region, fostering cross-border cooperation and solidarity in addressing shared climate issues.
- Amplify Voices: Empower civil society voices to effectively advocate for climate action, resilience-building, and environmental justice at local, national, and international levels.
- Catalyze Change: Support initiatives that contribute to meaningful progress towards climate resilience, mitigation, adaptation, and biodiversity conservation in alignment with global climate objectives.
- Address Climate Intersections: Encourage projects that recognize and address the intersections between climate change and other critical societal issues such as gender equality, social justice, human rights, health, economic development and decoloniality.
Projects covering topics such as climate change mitigation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate education, national and local climate policy, sustainable cities, just transition, adaptation, and biodiversity should also consider how they intersect with and impact these broader social and environmental dimensions.
