Maria is a co-founder of the MoveGreen environmental movement. In December 2021, she became the first representative from Central Asia to receive the UN’s highest environmental award, the Champions of the Earth Prize. She specializes in air quality issues and the design and implementation of environmental media campaigns. She is the Chair of the Board of the Green Alliance of Kyrgyzstan.
