CAN EECCA is a network of 66 environmental NGOs from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. As a part of the world’s largest international network, Climate Action Network, with over 1500 member organizations worldwide, our mission is to support and develop regional civil society in their ability to influence climate policies.
We are looking for 2 dedicated and proactive Secretariat Team members to join our international team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to climate justice in a dynamic and intersectional environment. CAN EECCA Secretariat is formed not as a set of individual experts with fragmented functions, but as task-oriented team.
One Secretariat Team member will be working specific to Eastern Europe and Caucasus for 9 months employment: 3 months – 50% (20 hours per week) and 6 months – 100% (40 hours per week). Position is remote, but the candidate should registered as individual entrepreneur.
One Secretariat Team member will be working specific to Central Asia for 18 months employment: 100% (40 hours per week). Position is remote, but the candidate should have a taxpayer identification number (INN) or registered as individual entrepreneur.
We are looking for someone who:

Is passionate about climate justice and civil society development in EECCA region (it means that you already into climate change context in the region, now main NGOs, policies, relevant problems)

Has proven experience in coordination and project management (including community management, organisation of events, communication, including basic design)

Proficient in English and Russian for competent written and verbal communication (other regional languages are a plus)

Is based in or has strong connection and knowledge of the EECCA region

Is self-organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fully remote, horizontal team
Key responsibilities of the Secretariat Team:
We are looking for generalists who have experience in project management, communication including basic design, fundraising and advocacy.
For both Secretariat Team members:
A Secretariat Team Member supports the coordination, communication, and implementation of the network’s activities. Key responsibilities typically include:

Coordination and Facilitation
Support coordination between CAN EECCA working groups, members, and Board; facilitate collaboration and information flow. -
Administrative and Operational Support
Organize meetings, including offline events when needed, prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action points. -
Communication
Maintain regular communication with members, share updates, support internal and external communications, write articles for CAN EECCA website, design posts for social media, and prepare weekly newsletter. -
Implementation Support
Assist in implementing decisions of the General Assembly, Board, and working groups. -
Documentation and Knowledge Management
Maintain records, documents, and institutional knowledge. -
Member Support and Engagement
Assist members, respond to requests, and support participation across the network. -
Fundraising and Project Support (if applicable)
Support proposal development, donor reporting, and project coordination. -
Lead planning and implementation of Climate Dialogues and Mini grants programs
