CAN EECCA is a regional climate-action network bringing together more than 50 NGOs from 11 countries and forming part of the global Climate Action Network (1900+ organizations).
The CAN EECCA Secretariat is the executive body of the network, responsible for daily operations, coordination, and community development. It is accountable to the Board and the General Assembly.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in managing networks, coalitions, projects, or NGOs
- Excellent command of English and Russian (knowledge of regional languages is an advantage)
- Understanding of climate policy and international climate processes
- Ability to work independently, structure processes, and mediate among participants
- Experience participating in UNFCCC/COP
- Fundraising experience and engagement with international foundations
- Team management skills
- A desire to strengthen the expert capacity of civil society organizations and activists in the EECCA region
- Ability to take responsibility and work efficiently online
- Experience maintaining project documentation
- Strong business communication skills, with speed and accuracy
- Attention to detail, with no need for additional proofreading of your documents and spreadsheets
- Interest in learning from the inside how a climate organization network operates and meeting our members
Key responsibilities of the Coordinator:
- Strategic leadership and management of the Secretariat, task distribution within the team
- Annual work planning and oversight of strategic goal implementation
- Fundraising, donor relations, and project management
- Ensuring that all processes comply with the Charter and the Board’s decisions
- Preparing regular reports for the Board and the General Assembly
- Organizing regular online meetings of network members (every 1–2 months)
- Developing and promoting the region’s position in international processes
- Maintaining continuous communication with other regional CAN offices and the CAN International Secretariat
- Moderating the can-eecca mailing list, adding new members, and forwarding important information
- Organizing discussions on CAN EECCA position papers
- Representing CAN EECCA at the regional and global levels
- Coordinating network members and membership processes
- Coordinating the region’s participation in UN climate processes (UNFCCC, COP)
- Communications, external relations, and partnership development
- Maintaining the network’s internal infrastructure: platforms, website, documentation
Period: January 2026 – July 2026 (with a possibility of contract extension)
Work format:
- Remote work
- Flexible schedule, with priority given to Monday–Friday working hours
- Full-time position
- Possible business trips (ASM, COP, donor meetings)
- Approximate compensation: 1,350 USD (gross) per month
